Vierden/Ramshausen liegt 7 km von Sittensen (A1, Autobahnausfahrt) entfernt, ich wohne nun am Rande einer ehemaligen Wochenendhaussiedlung. Hinter dem Grundstück geht der Blick über zwei, drei Felder und Wiesen zum Thörenwald... das Tister Bauernmoor ist auch nicht weit.

Trommelbaukurse 2024
Ein Trommelbaukurs besteht immer aus zwei ganzen Tagen, jeweils ca. acht Stunden, von 10.00 - 18.00 Uhr.
Normalerweise sind das zwei Samstage in Folge, da die Felle dann ausreichend Zeit haben zum Trocknen und außerdem noch etwas nachgeben. Fellart und Rahmengröße werden vorher telefonisch abgesprochen. Einen passenden Schläger stellen wir auch her.
Es können immer vier Leute bauen, wenn der Kurs in meiner Werkstatt stattfindet; Baukurse außerhalb sind ab vier und mit bis zu sieben Teilnehmern möglich. Wenn Sie einen Trommelbaukurs in Ihrer Nähe wünschen, kontaktieren Sie mich bitte!
Sondertermine in der Woche sind nach Absprache möglich.

Drum making workshop in Iceland in spring 2024!
- The making of a frame drum, a grounding spiritual journey -

Two groups, one at Saturdays: May 18th and 25th, and one at Sundays: May 19th and 26th 2024.
For shamanic inspired healing work, it is helpful to work with a drum. Of course, it is possible to buy an instrument; but to make it your own will create a different connection – with the animal who´s skin you use, as well as with the wood of the frame. The energy you bring into the drum with your hands and your intention will make it a very personal, powerful, and beautiful tool.
On two consecutive Saturdays/Sundays from 10.00 to 18.00 we will prepare frame and skin and bring them together ito a drum. Different diameters and types of skin are on offer.
We also make a drumstick.
Diameters: 40, 45, 50cm
When you have chosen your diameter, I will send you information about the types of wood I have available.
The bigger the frame, the deeper the sound will be; but a smaller drum is easier to carry outside, and a smaller hide will loosen less, when the weather is cold and wet.
Skins: the skins are from animals that lived in the forest or free range.
From the hunting season I have deer and roe deer. Goat, German heath sheep and horse I can get all year round.
In old Middle Europe the deer was called the king of the woods. The antlers are not only weapons but also antennas, that receive fine energetic informations. The skin gives a steady, deep sound.
The roe deer skin gives the most overtones. It is good for drums with a smaller diameter (40 – 45 cm), as the animal is smaller. Roe deer are food specialists; they are curious and like playing.
The sound of a goat skin is steady, friendly and straightforward. Goats are specialists in escaping out of stables; they are self-confident survival artists.
Horses I don´t need to tell Islanders about – it is not easy to get uniform pieces of skin, so it is also best for a 40 – 45 diameter. Clear, carrying, straight sound.
The German heath is a special sheep, a very old companion of mankind. It shares Viking ancestors with the Icelandic sheep. Both, male and female, have horns and black faces. They can feed on heather alone – and the skin has a warm, widening sound, a little like a gong.
Addition for 2024: We hope to be able to work with Icelandic skins...
The sounds of the skins are different, depending on the type, the age and life of the animal, how thick the skin is, the diameter of the frame. Once you have made your decision on what you use, stay open for what comes: every drum is special, as we are, too…
I remove the hair from the skins with a mixture of wood ash and water. It is a traditional preparation for tanning and an extra cleaning step. Hairless skin is much less susceptible to moths, and helps me bring the skins to Iceland, as the import of „raw skin“ is forbidden.
We will also create a corresponding drumstick.

3. "Kunstmeile Mühlenteich" in Sittensen - bitte vormerken!!! -

Ein noch junger, feiner Kunsthandwerkermarkt rund um den historischen Mühlenteich: über vierzig Kunsthandwerker zeigen dort ihre neuesten Kreationen, alle angebotenen Arbeiten sind von den Ausstellern selbst hergestellt.
Die Ausstellung findet zum Teil in den bzw. um die historischen Gebäude(n) statt. Auch für´s leibliche Wohl ist gesorgt. Möge uns auch in diesem Jahr die Sonne scheinen! :-)
Mit meinen Trommeln, Rasseln, neuem Knochenschmuck und Seminarangeboten finden Sie mich im Heimathaus! Meine neue Gruppentrommel wird auch dabei sein, stündlich darf getrommelt werden.
Ramshausen, mein neuer Wohn-, Arbeits- und Lebensort liegt nur sieben Kilometer entfernt...
Über bekannte und neue Gesichter, Austausch, Gespräche freue ich mich sehr! :-)
